About Our Reclaimed Heart Pine – Massive Wide Plank: Massive wide plank This reclaimed Heart Pine flooring is a substantial 11″ wide and features a 3/16″ wear layer with an overall thickness of 13/16″. Available in both character and select grade. 20,000 square foot in stock.

Exact Machining Each plank is precision milled and end matched to easily install direct to concrete or plywood sub-floor reducing labor cost.

History:

Reclaimed Heart Pine This flooring is manufactured from beams reclaimed from the historic #7 Cupples building in down town St Louis. The building was constructed in 1900 and razed in 2013.

Old Growth The beams were harvested from trees that date back to the 1500’s and were processed by the early pioneers of St Louis. During their lifespan the trees were exposed to much cooler climates which slowed the growth rate creating tight grain and knot formations. Creating Custom Interiors from Post-Production Recycled Materials

By utilizing off fall material from other manufacturing production, we are able to generate beautiful, custom interior wood products with recycled materials. EcoVations Recycled Wood Products can earn LEED points for most projects.

Historic Timber and Plank finds value in using sustainable, recycled wood products. There are many reasons why it is important to reuse and recycle wood products, and here are a few reasons why.

 

Why is it important to recycle wood?

 

1. “Landfill costs can be avoided by recycling wood wastes, generating savings that, along with revenue from the sale of recovered wood waste materials, can be credited toward the processing costs associated with recovery” (USDA Forrest Service).
